“Be kind to everyone, for you just don’t know the battles they are facing…”

Sometimes people come across as cheerful, happy, and upbeat. They seem to have it all together and that things are going well. Everything is fine.

Sometimes people come across as sad, unhappy and downbeat. They seem to have nothing together, and that things are going wrong. Nothing is fine.

The thing is it can be hard to know if the outward appearance is true, just a momentary mood, a transient emotion. Or if any of the body language is put on, faked, pretending, or hiding anything. Occasionally people hide behind a mask that covers a plethora of hurt or disappointment…

Often they don’t.

But one thing I’ve noticed is that things are not always as they seem.

But even when they are, it is not always easy to understand.

I find it hard to read body language and miss the majority of what people are communicating through facial expressions and physical cues etcetera.

It’s maybe getting easier. But I still feel like I have a lot to learn about communication.

But maybe that is the beginning of the process, realising the need for greater awareness.

“Be kind to everyone, for you just don’t know the battles they are facing…”
